The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ women’s basketball team pulled off a come-from-behind overtime victory over Albany State University last night to advance to the SIAC conference tournament semifinals today at 5:30 p.m. CST in Birmingham, Alabama.
The Thorobrettes trailed by as many as 16 points but rallied to tie the game 61-61 at the end of regulation. Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ overpowered Albany State in overtime for a 71-65 victory.
Brittani Rizzi had a game-high 22 points for Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ and Brooke Wallace had a 14-point, 16-rebound performance.
Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ opened the tournament with an 81-58 victory over Paine College.
The Thorobrettes face rival Central State University today in the conference semifinals. Central State is the top-seeded team in the SIAC West division.
